Usk Knowledge Hub

The knowledge Hub sits within the Partnership, and is responsible for providing technical advice to the core group to ensure decision making is based on the best evidence available. The Knowledge hub has four key purposes:-

  1. To identify the pressures and drivers relating to the decline of the river environment
  2. To identify the barriers preventing key outcomes for the river being met
  3. To quantify the impact of existing and proposed actions in delivering key outcomes (see above) for the nature,
    community and businesses of the Usk Catchment
  4. To develop metrics for monitoring the impact of actions towards key outcomes (see above)

The Knowledge Hub is comprised of a range of specialist advisors from the following organisations;

  • Natural Resources Wales
  • Dwr Cymru Welsh Water
  • Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority
  • Powys County Council
  • Monmouthshire County Council
  • Wye and Usk Foundation
  • Afonydd Cymru
  • Water Research Institute, Cardiff University
  • Tirweddau Cymru

Members of the knowledge hub provide representation on the working groups of the Partnership to ensure all action planning is informed by the best available evidence.

Evidence produced via the Knowledge Hub will be made publicly available wherever possible.
