About us
The Usk Catchment Partnership is a Welsh Government supported initiative bringing together statutory bodies and interested parties around a shared aim to restore the ecological health and resilience of the River Usk and its catchment.
The partnership is hosted by Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park Authority.

The Partnership is working together to develop an evidence based action plan to help deliver on a range of outcomes relating to water quality, flood risk, nature’s recovery, and resilient communities.
Core Group
September saw the third meeting of the Usk Catchment Core Group taking place in the beautiful setting of the Pen Pont Estate. The group had a packed agenda looking at the first draft of the action plan; a proposal for bringing the voice for nature into the partnership as well as undertaking the final review of the group’s constitution.
Knowledge Hub
The work of the partnership is supported by a group of specialists who bring the best available evidence to bear on the work of the Core Group. Their inaugural meeting was held on the 19th October it focused on agreeing ways of working and the emergent work plan for the group.
Active Communities
The first meeting of the Usk Active Communities subgroup took place online on the 6th September. This was an opportunity to get everyone in the partnership together to talk about some of the activities that are happening on the ground to help the Usk, to share knowledge and to provide opportunities for collaboration.
Outcomes and Benefits
The Outcomes and Benefits page highlights the various positive impacts and advantages that result from the collaborative efforts of the Usk Catchment Partnership. These outcomes and benefits are designed to improve the health and sustainability of the river, its ecosystems, and the surrounding communities.
